It is so much fun honoring our volunteers. This is Callie Wells. Callie volunteers in our soup kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday! (she takes Tuesdays off in the summer, but she will be back in the fall). Callie does whatever our Soup Kitchen Manager needs and she keeps us ALL laughing. It is a little quiet when she is not there...LOL! Not only do we have Callie, but her two daughters LOVE volunteering! When they are home from school they ask to come in and work. THANK YOU CALLIE for all you do for our families (and keeping us laughing). ... See MoreSee Less

Just when you think you could not love this community more...These are the girls scouts (troop leader Cassie Tarbox). They are creating @ 40 lasagnas! THEY purchased EVERYTHING needed with the funds they have been saving throughout the year selling cookies, fundraisers etc. If you notice...the older girl scouts are helping the brownies create these meals...A D O R A B L E! I suggested they see some of the people they will be feeding...SOOO we will be baking many of the lasagnas on Wednesday May 13th. The grils will portion out the meals and add a side salad and garlic bread! PLEASE...come see the girls on Wednesday 12-1pm. They will be handing out meals as well. I COULD NOT be more proud of these wonderful young ladies...THANK YOU ALL for caring about our food insecure families! ... See MoreSee Less

Receiving a donation of this size is rare this time of year. Most of our funds come in from Sept-Dec, so receiving this is a game changer..THANK YOU ALL!!
Indivisible Sagadahoc donates $2,875 to Bath Area Food Bank!!!
From Lucy, their treasurer -Thanks to all our members! Collectively, Indivisible Sagadahoc donated $2,875 and 8 cartons of food stuff to the Bath Area Food Bank. This group effort has truly helped our neighbors, many of whom are struggling with food insecurity. This is a result of on-going cuts to the SNAP program, coupled with rising prices and energy costs, so more families are forced to rely on the Food Bank. In turn, the Bath Area Food Bank is directly feeling this big pinch. They deeply appreciate our support!
This problem is not going away, but there are more opportunities to help out. This Saturday, May 9 is Stamp Out Hunger through the Post Office. Rural carriers will pick up non-perishable food left on or near your mailbox. Please check the expiration dates, since the food banks cannot distribute expired food in their regular boxes. In addition, our local Veterans of Foreign Wars will be collecting food and money (the latter is always preferable) all day at Shaw's, also on Saturday. Please let others know.

Once volunteers like Anne, Mary and Don (not pictured) go thru 1000's of pounds of produce...we are able to get @ 1/2-3/4 left. Everything else gets boxed up and a local farmer pics it up. ANYTHIG that is left outside at the end of a Tuesday night shift also goes to our local farmer. We start all over again on Thursday. ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you!! Such dedication and hard work!!
Great group to work with! I don't often go outdoors & see it come together. Looks really nice!!
They’re so amazing! Thank you, Mary, Anne, and Don! 🥰
Always love walking in on Tuesdays and seeing them! ❤️ The best volunteers.
This is the amount of food rescue produce we get in two days (and this is a light weekend). We get more through out the week. It is called 'rescue produce' because it is too good for farm animals, and has some life left in it for our families. Each and every one of these boxes has to be gone thru by volunteers. It takes HOURS to go thru all this produce every single week. Since we are human, we could miss something, but we all do our very best to NOT put out anything that we would not eat ourselves. Our director repeats it over and over 'if you would not feed it to your family, throw it in the farm box.' If you find something in the outside tent you do not feel is adequate, feel free to throw it in one of the boxes under the tables. ... See MoreSee Less

BAFB does an amazing job. Director Kimberly F. Gates cares about quality & would never put out anything she would not feed to her family.
It IS a lot of work! Thanks for saving the food! ☺️
There’s so much labor that goes into this that people do not see! We are so thankful to have you as a resource for this community!
