We are getting ready to celebrate all of our volunteers...past and present. On October 15th from 3-5 we invite ALL our volunteers for a pizza party gathering at the Food Bank. Some of our board members will be coming as well as our director and staff. It is with a very very heavy heart that we have to share the loss of our longest volunteers son. John and Jayne Starbird lost their son to a horrible aggressive lung disease. Our thoughts and prayers have been with him thru the ordeal and we send our sincere condolences to them. Below is a piece that was written about Ryan:
Our son Ryan 53, from Arrowsic, Morse High Class of 92 passed away in the ICU at Midcoast Hospital on Tuesday morning 22 September. He died of a rare and aggressive lung disease. He worked at both the Hannafords in Topsham and Cooks Corner for over 34 years. He was a truly gentle man with a heart of gold and will be missed by many friends, classmates and customers at Hannafords. An obituary will appear in the DaigleFuneral Home website. His ashes will be at home until Spring. Thanks to all who have sent cards and messages to Jayne and I. John&Jayne Starbird ... See MoreSee Less

I worked with him at the Topsham store back in the late nineties. Such a nice young man and worker. Sincere condolences to his parents. We loved him.
